I believe that costumes should not distract from a story, but enhance it.  
Fabrics and unusual textiles are what excite me most about the design process, and my ideas often evolve around these.

Luxurious materials such as silk satin, velvet and chiffon are a major inspiration, and I love shopping around for beautiful and sensual fabrics. My motivation has a strong emphasis on colour and personal fabric manipulation.

My main interest lies in film, which allows for careful detail to be seen in close-up shots. I have a love for pattern, texture and embellishment, which can create richness in a costume.
