Liverpool Hope University
Design BSc
The origins of my work have evolved from a project using recycled materials where I used layered and compressed Chinese newspaper, uncovering its possibilities, I quickly became fascinated with the beautiful aesthetic of this material and began striving to push its capabilities into furniture production.
In conjunction with the technical enquiry I began research into Chinese art and design and the aesthetic influences the Chinese community have had on the city of Liverpool. The research lead into the methods and imagery which were to form the main inspiration for my printed textiles.
Any waste material is re-employed to produce homewares and jewellery to create my own sustainability.
My work embodies the love I have for colour and design while my lively personality is represented in the way I try to play with contradiction in my work.
