By having glass as the medium in which I work I explore texture, surface detail, shape and colour by combining various types of glass together through kiln-forming techniques.

Light and refractions are considered carefully as their involvement can transform a piece.

Everything I make is a reaction to what I see in the natural world; I either try to recreate an emotion felt when in a specific environment or I try to manipulate the material to represent small pieces of the surroundings in which I find myself most influenced by. 

I use composition and very subtle colour choices to express the sophisticated beauty I wish my pieces to be perceived as.

Working in this way, using the material and the techniques that I do can be very unpredictable and challenging. However my passion and determination to produce high quality pieces means that there are many rewards in working with glass.
