TECHNIQUES REVEALING THE CRAFT OF FASHION
This brief focuses on the craft of fashion; we had to design a Smock Coat which emphasised fabric manipulation techniques. I chose to carry forward the techniques of pleats and pleat tucks featured on front and back of the coat.
The choice of fabric created a lovely texture with the mixture of pleats, giving a professional finish and outcome.
COMPETITION ACCESSORIES BRIEF - Polaroid Sunglasses
We had to select a live competition to pursue,i chose a fashion accessories competition, I designed two sunglasses that were inspired by the 30s and 60s.
My main inspiration came from two Vogue covers from the two eras, once submitting my designs i further developed this concept into a brief, designing and manufactured two fashion looks that would work with my sunglasses designs.
GRATTAN FREEMANS PROJECT
I was asked to create a commissioned garment by the fashion catalogue company Grattan Freemans. To celebrate 100years of the company, students had been given different eras to develop,i was given 1912, and had to create a garment which reflected the fashion of that period. The fabric had to be a digital print which i designed using the images of the jewellery they sold in 1912.
