I am an enthusiastic, skilled and dynamic Print/Surface Pattern Designer and Maker with a 1st Class Honours in Contemporary Textiles Practice.

I have excellent drawing and design skills with a distinctive style suited to collating 'mood', 'theme', 'inspiration' and 'trend' boards etc. I have advanced print design and surface pattern design skills, with working knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator; as well as technical knowledge of various print design techniques inc. hand screen printing, colour separation, repeat layouts etc. I am also skilled in stitch, embroidery, appliqué, embellishment and mixed media design.

While possessing a high level of unique creativity, which I apply towards all tasks, I also have an instinctive colour sense and love of pattern and print in all its forms.

Since graduating last year, I have gained valuable experience within the creative industries through a range of work placements and roles, particularly within areas of textile print design. I have also continued to develop and enhance my creativity and skills by producing freelance print designs/illustrations and working to commissions for companies such as UK Greetings; and continuing to work on my own self-set projects.

My keen eye for emerging key trends and styles, combined with a strong passion for sourcing and collating new and exciting ideas and inspirations means I'm always on the pulse of the latest fashion trends.

09/2010 - Studio Assistant, Su Blackwell Studios , London.
Active role as studio and creative assistant in multi disciplinary crafts/illustrator/prop making studio. I assisted on various projects including pieces for Saab commercial and Swedish Green Party advertising campaign.

08/2010 - Design and Studio Assistant, Jenkins & Power, London.
Exciting placement as a print design and studio assistant within a fashion led accessories business and studio. Here I gained great insight into the journey and development of a commercial product from the design studio to the shop floor.

07/2010 - Showcased, New Designers 2010, London.
Showcased part of my Final Degree Show work at this large scale graduate exhibition, requiring strong styling and design skills to ensure stand was always visually cohesive and aesthetically vibrant.

06/2010 – Nominated and Interviewed for Texprint 2010, London.

05/2010 - Installation of Degree Show Work, Cardiff Arts Institute, Cardiff.
A self initiated 'live' extension of my individual Final Major Project; resulting in the styled installation of degree show work at the CAI, a collaborative arts bar, in form of a pop-up exhibition.

12/2009 – Consultancy Module with Sarah Cheyne, Gilby & Cheyne.
Participated in a live module working with Design Consultant Sarah Cheyne, in order to gain experience of the design industry and contextualise my work in the professional realm.

09/2009 – Briefed by Melin Tregwynt
I designed a collection of silk scarf designs in order to complement and update the welsh weave company's traditional coats and woven garments.

02/2009 - Ikea Exhibition in main foyer, IKEA, Cardiff.
After completing a live module in collaboration with Ikea, my work was selected to be part of an exciting exhibition in the main foyer of Ikea, Cardiff which was organised and implemented by a student cohort including myself.
