I am a recent graduate of the Glasgow School of Art where I received my BA Honours Degree in Design Textiles.  Prior to this I gained a Higher National Diploma in Textiles and Fashion Design from Edinburgh's Telford College.

Having studied both fashion and textiles at higher education, I have strong fabric design and construction skills combined with excellent pattern cutting and dressmaking skills.

My final fabric collection at Glasgow School of Art in 2012 was based around the idea that 'distortion can be beautiful.'  My initial research focused on the manipulation of everyday objects using mirrors, water and steam.  These images were captured on camera and a selection of mixed media collaged drawings were produced using combinations of bought, found and hand-printed papers and tapes.

The design element of my collection centred around both the stripe and circle effect that became apparent during the creative process.  My desire to combine strong pattern and texture whilst retaining a delicate and intricate look, resulted in a variety of monochromatic fabrics in varying yarns.
