As a disillusioned freelance textile designer returning to college, it is with a renewed enthusiasm for creativity I found myself pushing boundaries of conventional textile designing, using controversial materials such as blood, urine, medical supplies, money, acid mixed with metal, powder coat, resin and contemporary materials.

The inspiration for my current collection has been a reaction to our countries dire financial situation, what I believe is the mismanagement of our country’s wealth. The process involves corrosion on coins using a mixture containing urine.

My intention is to produce a range of contemporary designs which, to the onlooker appear to be beautiful, but on greater understanding of the processes provoke a distasteful response. From this subversive work I have developed a collection of commercial designs for the home.
