An obsession with being able to attach to myself the latest object of my affection is what led me to jewellery. Although cherished curios tied with string around my wrist and neck have been replaced with precious metals, my preoccupation with creating jewellery from topics that reflect personal attachment remains the same. Materials and processes are equally as important to me as the subject matter that forms each collection. I love the beauty and durability of precious metals and I am passionate in my practice that these are ethically sourced.  The processes I use are mainly traditional, and although digital technology is used occasionally, it is the crafting of each artefact by hand that enthrals me.

The objects and subjects I obsess over are steeped in emotional association and it is this compulsion that sparks the creative process of each collection.

Sources of my fixation include containment; human form; anatomy; ritual; vessels; decaying surfaces; engineering components and mechanical fastenings.

Although sentimentality is the common thread that intrinsically links my collections together, outwardly it is not necessary that the viewer and wearer recognise this.

Instead I hope the wearer creates a new individual meaning and resonance with each piece.
