The exhibition offers a panoramic vision of the 40 years of design work by Yves Saint Laurent. The exhibition takes a themed journey around 307 Couture and pret-à-porter outfits, photographs, design work and films from the designer's beginnings as a Couture designer at Dior in 1958 with the famous Trapèze collection right through to the splendour of Yves Saint Laurent eveningwear.
The création of the Yves Saint Laurent and the background to his work are presented in a historic context, illustrated by photographs and films. Amazing exhibition sets demonstrate the richness of his artistic and cultural inspirations. The first Couturier to want to dress the ordinary woman in the street, he also dressed the stars.
