About

Lena Lordrin is an interdisciplinary designer whose work often centers itself around movement, relationships and identity, and ecological design. Drawing from a diverse array of material-based practices such as woodworking, textiles, moldmaking, metalworking, ceramics, and printmaking, Lena approaches problems with curiosity and a holistic perspective. Always eager to take on new challenges, and ever-critical; since she was young, Lena’s father would often tell people, “her favourite question is ‘Why?'”

ZERO WASTE / ONE PATTERN / TWO WAYS A collection of zero-waste, reconfigurable garments. Wear it until you grow tired of it, then unstitch, rearrange, and resew it into something new. SELVAGE /\/\/ SELVAGE is a project which proposes alternatives to fast fashion through a combination of zero-waste patterning and semi-permanent construction. It aims to target both pre- and post-consumer waste streams by suggesting thoughtful methods of patterning modern clothing, and by designing alternate futures into garments from their initial conception. The physical work includes a reconfigurable, zero-waste textile pattern which can be assembled to make either a pair of pants or a jacket. The pattern has been modified to fit three different fabric widths.
