Fashion Graduate Italia 2019 took place October 27-30 2019 at BASE Milano in the Tortona district, with 18 Italian schools from around the country showcasing on stands the work of their students, alongside catwalk shows and a packed programme of workshops and talks.

On Sunday Accademia Costume & Moda opened the catwalk presentations with 9 MA Alta Moda students. Shown above, Cultural Osmosis by Maital Levitan is a Haute Couture collection inspired by the Israeli and American cultures, that turn into a mixture of textures and fabrics from both countries: flowers, stripes and paintings with embroidery and patchwork techniques create a mix of the designer's native roots.

IED showed DIVISI collection by Violetta Gancia (Fashion Design), Martina Modenese (Fashion Stylist) and Marcello Pipitone (Fashion Design), created for the larger project "THE TIME IS NOW!", presented last June at Pitti Uomo for the development of collections oriented towards the use of raw materials and processes that are less polluting and have an impact on the planet in terms of energy and resources.

Alongside individual collections NABA showed a selection of outfits by final year Fashion Design BA students - Elisa Bontempo, Emma Canaletto, Francesca D'Elia, Catherine Jayadiharja, Nicolas Marcantoni, Arianna Monticelli, Federico Oliva, Letizia Pierini, Giulia Rubini, Ilenia Sapia, Leonardo Serva, Lorenzo Signaigo, Leyla Talakoub and Dario Venuti - realized during the workshop "The future of fashion" on the theme of sustainability under the careful guidance of designer Tiziano Guardini, winner of the Franca Sozzani Award for Best Emerging Designer during the Green Carpet Award in 2017.

Among the designs on the Istituto Modartech catwalk were outfits from the Jeans Genes Collection, in which the students took sketches from classic designers such as Balenciaga, Lanvin, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and many others and reinterpreted them in a contemporary streetwear style.
