Twenty nominees have been selected for the Pure Talents Contest imm Cologne 2022.

Over the last 18 years, over 500 products by 555 international designers have exhibited at the Pure Talents Contest exhibition at imm Cologne. This year, some 539 submissions were received from up-and-coming designers situated in 52 countries.

The final nominees were selected by a jury of design professionals including Marcel Besau (Studio Besau-Marguerre) from Hamburg and Sebastian Herkner from Offenbach, Norbert Ruf, Creative Director and Executive Director of Thonet GmbH, and Jennifer Reaves, Executive Director of DesignFest GmbH, Stuttgart.

  • Florian Bremer (Kunsthochschule Kassel) and the Soapso set of designer soaps

  • Teresa Egger  (New Design University) and the modular Ludo furniture collection

  • Rania Elkalla (TU Berlin) and the pebble hangers set of clothes hangers made from egg and nut shells

  • Alexandre Fontaine (ENSCI Les Ateliers) and the folded light switch

  • Philipp Hainke (Universität der Künste Berlin) and the Powerplace portable charging station

  • Lukas Heintschel and Kilian Klepper (Hochschule München) and the Neozoon portable lamp made from recyclable material

  •  Hemmo Honkonen (Aalto University) and the Embossing Wood chair design

  • Carolien Janssens (FHNW HGK IID Basel) and the Pura kitchen appliance collection
