' showcases a multi-disciplinary selection of young artists, designers and creatives; attesting an answer to the seemingly open ended question that is different every time, ‘the sound of elaboration, physically thinking, lyrically stinking.’ ‘What do you call it? ' Poster The group show is on display for one night only, tonight, January 17, so if you’re in London make sure to go and support this amazing venture by a group of exciting young creators. Exhibitors include the artist and music producer Ellis Warren, better known as Patchfutures, whose new exhibition aims to disrupt the concept of a classic gallery exhibition. Patchfutures is a name generator, a label machine. Automatic wobbly noun producer. He creates textile patch works, poems, films, signs and sculptures which show language to be a seamless, portable life form, and not limited to a strict alphabet or phonology. The capacities for music to 'make sense' is a central focus for his work. He regularly contributes to Nasir Mazhar's concept boutique Fantastic Toiles, and makes music as a part of Sirius, Othermen and other aliases. Presenting what they call an ‘Overflowing barrel’, What do you call it? includes individual pieces from exhibiting artists, along with a multi-channel radio experience featuring sound works by Warren, Katie Mess , Adam Yousaf Barney Ogden Alfie Rollitt, George Cripps and Fin Kelly. Speakers in the space speak multiple languages of music at the same time, and wash the drawings, paintings, textile works and sculptures, encouraging them to respond. Live poetry performances by Patchfutures and Felix Fuller Kerley show the strangeness of speech as it unfolds from human mouths and hands. Paintings of windy visions, real events, and intense provenance are scattered along the walls. Rocks with words on them, a giant golem, wrapped bass spheres, and signs are also to be expected. A secret film screening by Adam Yousaf is also on the cards. The night will be rounded off by DJ sets by Gils x Bingoonler, Othermen, and K-Nutz b3b.
