About:

Hello! I am Cecilia Navarro Megías, Fashion Designer specialized in Prêt-à-porter, with four years of training and one year of experience in the labor sector. I am focused on the development of creative concepts and their materialization, as well as creative direction and communication projects. My curiosity and restlessness have led me to acquire knowledge in fields such as art, culture, fashion and design, as well as to learn to carry out precise research on their respective applications in our society, and their influence on different communities and minorities.

It is a collection that revolves around the figure of the spider (thanks to my obsession) as a metaphor for my grandmother, and in the same way the study of the deformation of the human anatomy with aging. All this represented through the use of techniques such as: natural hand dyeing, the use of natural fibers such as cotton or natural wool, the revaluation of the artisanal technique, the use of natural stones from my grandmother's old necklaces, and pieces found in her old cookie tin boxes . I have also tried to revalue the raw materials from my grandfather's fields, such as oak wood with which many pieces of amulets are also made, and relics of my great-grandmother Abelina that my grandmother keeps with great affection and that she has shared with me for this collection (jets or chain mail bags...). Recycling process of second-hand skins extracted from leather jackets that I had abandoned in the closets of my grandmother's house and in local markets. Overall, this project has been based on a textile research and experimentation processes with the aim to generate new materials that reflect the anatomical changes produced by ageing. https://www.neo2.com/cecilia-navarro-abelina-coleccion-fin-grado-ied-madrid-ganadora-premio/ Special Mention in Metal Magazine's IED Graduation Show Article Review: https://metalmagazine.eu/bi/post/article/ied-madrid-graduation-fashion-show-2022
