About:
Currently studying the BA (Hons) Fashion Design course at Norwich University of the Arts. I focus my skills on designing and trend research. My minimal design aesthetic and architectural inspiration enables me to push my work into new and exciting areas of design. I aim to challenge myself within womenswear design, through new ideas of conventional fashion, focusing on tailoring aspects, layering techniques and fine attention to detail.
Capsule Collection for Ba2a - tailoring. This collection is based on architecture, featuring oversized minimal aspects throughout - strongly reflecting my design aesthetic. Throughout this project I was particularly interested in the layers of fabric working on top of one another through the use of storm flaps, and panelling. Looking at the smaller detailing of the collection, I used unconventional seams and topstitching to take a traditional tailoring technique and make it my own. I wanted my collection to be as crisp as possible which is where the top-stitching really helped to get the sharp edges to strongly reflect architectural influences from my initial design ideas.
