About:

I'm a textile designer / illustrator, who loves capturing the world through color & portraying my thoughts through matter. this project will be devoted almost entirely to low tech methods in the textile world, such as hand embroidery and punch needle on printed yuta surfaces. I call them illustrated hand made surfaces, or simply, my most basic thoughts about living, creating & thriving. A lot of the techniques are traditional textile art methods, and the making of these eye candy creatures required spending the time to perfect and practice the ancient methods, and learning how to manipulate matter in a new way; my mission was documenting the look & Feel of this period of time we currently experiencing, and for the first time ever, time was a concept i had plenty of during quarantine lockdown. since i wanted to combine my two specialities, printing and knitting in the creation of this project, i also focused on creating a fusion between ancient traditional hand craft techniques with a contemporary feel. my creative process was guided by documenting through creating, in the making of these i learned the art of slowing down and focusing in the present time. letting go and practicing fulfilling one task at a time. i am creating illustrated and hand crafted wall pieces that talk about this journey to the state of flow. that natural rhythmis what's behind my project's name , Basic Thoughts.
