(dead stars, glass, gunpowder, welding fumes, sugar, hot metal) The olfactory/light installation emits a scent of “void” - scent of immense clouds of stardust, diffuse matter that has been driven out of stars as they burned out, collapsed, and exploded. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are aromatic compounds, formed in the aftermath of stellar explosions. These organic compounds were the basis of the scent creation for this work. The work consists of multiple shapes of hand-blown glass and various gases with running high-voltage electricity. Each time installed, the work acquires an entirely unique setup and will never get repeated in the same way, as if live-painting and erasing the composition in reference to chaos and expansion of the Universe.
