About:
Hi, I am Charlie, a 2022 graduate from Manchester Fashion Institute MMU.
As a designer, I aim to celebrate queerness. I design genderless event wear with a focus on designing for male presenting bodies as I feel that they are under-catered for in statement wear especially when embracing femininity.
During my final year, I aimed to improve the process of making bespoke garments by combining innovative technologies and traditional techniques, focusing on 3D printing and clo3D for which I was shortlisted for the GFW Innovation award.
My final collection starts with the myth of Atlantis taking inspiration from ancient Greek Mythology, art and architecture. This collection was selected as the best in show at the GFW Manchester show and highly commended for the Zandra Rhodes Award at GFW international.Since then my partner and I have launched our brand belladonis.co.uk with treasures of Atlantis as our premiere collection

Treasures of Atlantis visually shows the rise of the city of Atlantis to prosperity, its fall to greed and reclamation by the sea through a custom 3D print story and visual transformation of the collection. Made from locally milled, internationally renowned British mohair, the collection starts with strong architectural tailoring that gradually transforms into more fluid and organic shapes. Blending traditional techniques and innovative technologies to make accessible luxury fashion that captures and celebrates queer joy through the authentic expression of the wearer.
