About:
T*MITROVSKA is a highly conceptual London-based brand playing with unconventional materials, shapes and gender roles and is funded by young designer Teodora Mitrovska. The brand developed organically after Teodora’s graduation from BA Fashion Design at Middlesex University in 2018, as a result of the immediate press interest in Teodora’s design work. While starting slowly, with made to order and one-off pieces, T*MITROVSKA launched its online platform and e-commerce in September 2020.Since its ‘birth’ T*MITROVSKA has shown at multiple European fashion weeks, including Riga Fashion Week, Fashion Weekend Skopje, Lisbon Fashion Week and, most recently, London Fashion Week September 2020 and February 2021. We have worked with numerous stylists, magazines and artists, been part of different online and irl e-commerce platforms and was recently awarded BIG SEE Fashion Design 2021 winner for North Macedonia.
‘Mind your Mind’ is a collection that reflects on Teodora’s personal lockdown experience. After almost two years of cancelled runways and showrooms, cancelled birthdays and club nights, it felt like nothing really mattered anymore, so the usual inspiration that Teodora takes from commenting on socio-political issues felt irrelevant. It seemed that the only appropriate thing to do is to self-reflect and strip the concept off of any high-brow ideas - just focus on something very simple, very current and very relatable. The collection looks at the duality between enjoying the comfort of your own home but feeling trapped and alone in isolation. It also looks at the 'self-care' culture, that gained popularity in lock-down, from a critical point of view, acknowledging that while some of us had the privilege to experience the pandemic as a time for self-reflection, self-growth, self-investment time, the world has been falling apart. Following the concept of the collection, the video aims to communicate that duality between warmth and uneasiness mixed with the indifference and hopelessness lockdown brought upon us.
