About:

A recent fashion textile graduate from London College of Fashion, specialising in print. Trained as a print designer for fashion, Fairuz has a good eye for colour and proficient in different printing techniques and materials. Her creative process is approached with a strong concept analysis and considers all the details. Through her design, she tends to transform unconventional materials to become a desirable textile. Her interest in cinematography, particularly science-fiction film, has influenced her to produce textiles with elements of film effects and photographic. It allows her to become critical and experimental in designing, to manipulate one idea into a variety of designs that fit for different market levels in fashion industry.

Kaleidoscope is a final year project by Fairuz Adlina. It is full of exciting and mesmerising geometric prints influenced by different and interesting sources including 1968 sci-fi film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, by Stanley Kubrick.

Waves is a project by Fairuz Adlina that explores abstract shapes, glitch, and mola patterns mix with textures. Many research such as looking into artists and archive have been done to produce an interesting and exciting patterns.

Gentle Touch is a collection with full of colourful and exciting floral prints which was influenced by artworks of a British painter, Sarah Graham, and 1960's fashion prints, mixed with an ancient craft, marbling. The style of Sarah Graham's drawings, which are very hand-rendered, soft, and gentle, inspired Fairuz to produce a range of elegant floral prints and mixing it with the marbling's abstract pattern, resulting to create a refreshing twist to the florals.

This collection is a collaboration of Sikei Chong and Fairuz Adlina. The collection takes inspiration from the ongoing protest in Hong Kong, where citizens are fighting for freedom and democracy. It explores body movement, representing the forces restricting human freedom. The garments in this collection reflects the true definition of freedom in itself, being able to decide future, fate and move liberally. “Freedom will come when we break boundaries”. The collection and garments flows in between shapes, form and abstract and geometric print designs in collaboration with Print designer, Fairuz Adlina. Print designs are inspired by sci-fi film, 2001: A Space Odyssey - Stanley Kubrick. It explores camera effects and a spatial concept, in line with the idea of being trapped and under control.

Full of futuristic geometric prints, the collection takes inspiration from a 2010 sci-fi film, Inception directed by Christopher Nolan. It explores the London skyline, including high-rise buildings and historical architecture. The colour palette is influenced by dystopian colours that are normally used in the sci-fi films. It represents the cities' daylight and darkness.
