About:

I’m a newly graduated BA (Hons) Fashion Design student from Sheffield Hallam University. As a driven and hardworking individual, I’m keen to take on a variety of challenging roles and aim to develop and advance my creative and technical skills. I work efficiently both as a group and individually, easily, and quickly adapting to the surroundings. Throughout my time at university, I have specialised in womenswear, which I followed through for my graduate collection. I previously undertook a fashion internship at Megan Crook Textiles where I assisted the team with pattern cutting garment construction and their social media. The 6 months I spent working for the brand really allowed me to expand my abilities and skills. I have also worked at Matacomplex Ltd, a rising independent womenswear brand. All patchwork garments are handmade which has allowed me to perfect my sewing skills. I have recently been selected to showcase my work at the 2021 Graduate Fashion Week.

In celebration of my hometown, Bridlington, I’ve created a collection that captures my fond memories of growing up by the coast. The British seaside holiday has become an escapism for those living in built up areas. A trip to the beach allows families to relax and the age dynamics become blurred, finding everyone building sandcastles and paddling whether they are 4 or 40. Iv explored how the glorified idea of a day at the beach is not always as planned, for the temperamental British weather has you wearing your swimming costume underneath your raincoat. Iv previously produced abstract seascapes which were driven by the colour and shapes found in my photography. I took inspiration from this and used the movement, patterns and reflections formed by the sea to create print and silhouettes.
