Aravalo’s womenswear collection heavily featured typography and geometric patterns, while Tubiana’s menswear pieces incorporate traditional knitwear patterns weaved in bold and playful primary colours.  Qiying Song Qiying Song’s Max Mara collection of knitwear and jersey pieces is intended for daily wear. The collection includes oversized pieces as well as tailored pieces such as high-waisted skirts and an asymmetric belted top.  Alessandra Dimiccoli Alessandra Dimiccoli’s collection with Roberto Collina draws inspiration from Japanese culture and traditions. The pieces make nods towards Japanese minimalism as well as Japanese fine art.  Elisa Paulina Herrmann Ermanno Scervino’s brief was for students to reinterpret the brand’s signature materials and patterns - lace, jacquard and stripes. Elisa Paulina Herrmann’s take on the brief resulted in a collection of casual separates. MA students from the Creative Knitwear Design Masters program at the Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome showcased their latest collections in a catwalk show at Pitti Immagine Filati 84 earlier this month.
Napapijri and The Woolmark Company asked students to create sports and technically advanced farments based on the theme of fashion and performance. Responses to the briefs ranged from printed raincoats (Giulia Valabrega), hooded ponchos (Hannah Jane Duncan) and outwear featuring oversized envelope-like pouches (Dario Tubiana).
The students were tasked with showing personal projects as well as collections created in collaboration with brands including Benetton, Roberto Collina, Max Mara, Ermanno Scervino and Napapijri & The Woolmark Company.
