Following the incredible success of last year’s Global Fashion Graduate event in Mexico, we are thrilled to announce this year’s edition will take place in Cape Town, South Africa .
This initiative brings together leading fashion institutes from across the globe, forming a vibrant, collaborative community where creativity, dialogue, and cross-cultural exchange thrive. It’s more than a showcase—it's a platform designed to support and empower the next generation of creative talent.
In 2025, we’re proud to welcome over 20 universities from 10 countries to Cape Town, offering emerging designers the visibility, encouragement, and global stage they need to launch their careers.
Curated in Collaboration with the Cape Town Fashion Council
This year’s showcase is presented in partnership with the Cape Town Fashion Council , alongside a coalition of South Africa’s leading fashion institutions. With the support of Group of Creatives (GRP/cr8) —Africa’s premier fashion show production company— GFG South Africa 2025 will officially open Cape Town Fashion Week , positioning our graduates and participating institutions at the centre of global media, buyer, and industry attention.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for international fashion institutions to stand alongside their peers from Africa and the Global South—to build meaningful academic and creative partnerships, and to connect with a new generation of culturally rooted, globally minded talent .
The Global Fashion Graduate Experience: 3 Days / 3 Core Elements
1. Symposium: Academia × Industry × TalentA series of talks, panels, and presentations featuring graduates, educators, and global fashion leaders. Topics range from African luxury to curriculum innovation, bridging creativity, education, and enterprise.
2. Cultural Exhibition: Fashion Artefacts & Global Textiles All participating institutions are invited to contribute fashion artefacts or textiles that reflect their school's identity. This curated exhibition celebrates cultural storytelling and fosters dialogue across continents.
3. Graduate Fashion Show: Opening Cape Town Fashion Week A high-impact runway show spotlighting selected graduates' collections. More than a student showcase, this is a career-defining moment for emerging designers—taking place on one of Africa’s most prestigious fashion stages.
