Arts Thread is proud to be working with TEX+ again for 2026
NURTURING NEW TEXTILE TALENT
TEX+ is a career accelerator, connecting the next generation with textile industry professionals to build skills, networks and futures.
Our aim is to provide opportunities for textile graduates from UK universities, colleges and schools of art as they embark on their professional lives, making lasting social impact through work placements, financial awards, best practice guidance and peer-to-peer support.
Shortlisted graduates automatically become TEX+ Alumni and invited to join the TEX+ community benefiting from ongoing TEX+ support, including showcasing the 25 finalists in London 14 - 17 July, 2026.
TEX+ submissions should be listed under one of the following specialisms -
- Textile Print
- Textile Knit
- Textile Weave
- Textile Mixed Media
- Textile Concept
For Tex+ 2026 we will be looking for excellence practice in the following categories:
- INNOVATION & CREATIVITY - innovative use of materials, colour, finishes
- TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE - exceptional craftsmanship, technical mastery and process.
- SUSTAINABILITY & ETHICAL PRACTICE - responsible textiles, forward-thinking textile solutions
- COMMERCIAL & MARKET POTENTIAL - designs with commercial promise and potential to shape textile industries
- CULTURAL & SOCIAL IMPACT - cultural narratives, traditions reworked for today
Submission to the Arts Thread website must include the following:
- A short personal statement (max 300 words)
- 10-20 examples of work including sketchbooks etc by each candidate
- PLUS an optional One-minute video talking briefly about your work (vertical view) You do not have to include yourself visually as part of the video - TO BE UPLOADED ONTO VIMEO
