Major players from Disney, DreamWorks, National Geographic, and Facebook will all reveal the secrets of their success in a series of workshops and talks as part of -ing Festival. Speakers include:
Karen Kasmauski: Pulitzer Award-nominated photographer, who has covered earthquakes in Japan, been arrested in Africa, and exposed to radiation in Russia during 25 years capturing stories for National Geographic.
Seb Lester: Acknowledged as the world’s finest calligrapher, he has designed custom fonts and typeface for NASA missions, Olympic games, Apple and British Airways – and has gained 2 million Instagram followers in the process.
Tron Mai: The animator behind some of this decade’s biggest animation box office hits including King Fu Panda 2, Rapunzel, and How to Train Your Dragon, he is head of story at DreamWorks and has previously worked for Disney and Sony.
In total, 20 speakers will host more than 50 workshops over three packed days. A sprawling
‘creators market’ will allow attendees to shop for original artwork, clothing, jewellery, books and gifts made by the 50 talented international artists at the market.
Other guests will include graphic-artist-to-the-stars Jessica Walsh and Joel Beukelman, one of Google’s most senior designers.
Workshops will tackle diverse subjects such as:
Arabic, Latin, and Japanese Calligraphy and typography
Storytelling like National Geographic or DreamWorks
Branding yourself on Instagram and Facebook
