About

I am a Level 6 Textile Design student, speciallising in Print and embellishment. My painterly design style is highlighted throughout my prints which explore bold, bright and playful colour compositions. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of hand printing processes and experimenting to create innovative outcomes. I also work within embroidery and embellishment such as quilting and embroidered trims that accompany my prints within each collection.

This Level 6 print and embellishment project; ‘A Living painting’, was specifically inspired by Charleston House in Lewis, home and creative hub for the Bloomsbury group. I was particularly inspired by Vanessa Bell, amongst other still life artists such as Matthew Smith, Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines. The bright floral gardens, alongside the maximilist house itself, motivated many paintings belonging to the Bloomsbury group themselves, leading to my own artistic journey encouraged by the estate. As a designer who has always been passionate about fine art, I enjoyed the process of using my artwork to fuel inspiration throughout the duration of this project.
