About
I am a Level 6 Textile Design student, speciallising in Print and embellishment. My painterly design style is highlighted throughout my prints which explore bold, bright and playful colour compositions. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of hand printing processes and experimenting to create innovative outcomes. I also work within embroidery and embellishment such as quilting and embroidered trims that accompany my prints within each collection.
A midsummer feast
'A midsummer Feast' is inspired by Scandinavian midsummer celebrations and dining as a community with loved ones. This is portrayed through the imagery of tablecloths, flowers, vases and dining displays. The collection links heavily to my love for Fine Art, particularly Still Life. Having taken inspiration from Artists such as Van Gogh, Matisse, and Vanessa Bell, My own still life paintings were the sole source for all of my designs within this collection. At the heart of this collection is the sustainability concept, which is emphasised through my use of upcycled cloth. 100% of my samples are recycled fabrics including deadstock purchased at local scrap stores, donated tablecloths and linens or printed directly onto recycled polyester satin. This choice was to highlight and personally limit the amount of textile fabrics that end up in landfill. A playful print and embellishment collection designed to be produced bespokely for high quality and considered womenswear.
