About

Yen Chang (Liza) is a Taiwanese product designer passionate about sustainability and circular design. Her work focuses on transforming agricultural waste into innovative, eco-friendly products that support both farmers and the environment.Yen has been researching how to redesign farming packaging with agri-waste to minimize waste and improve efficiency. She tested different ratios of ingredients to make biomaterials, exploring their stretchability, strength, and transparency. Each experiment brought unexpected results, showing her how nature’s materials behave in unique ways.Yen’s work, Agri-fruit-bag, is a fruit growing bag used in guava production. It regenerates tomato leaves into biofilm. Its structure protects fruits from farm to market. It's biodegradable in soil as fertilizer and decomposes after harvesting fruits. It transforms agricultural waste into a second skin for fruits, while protecting the land we all share.

Agri-fruit-bag is a fruit growing bag used in guava production. It regenerates tomato leaves into biofilm. It replaces unrecyclable double-layer plastic guava bags, which are foam nets and outer bags used to protect fruits from pests, sunburn, and damage. Agri-fruit-bag is made from the farm and returns to enrich it. It transforms agricultural waste into a second skin for fruits, while protecting the land we all share.
