About
Rinske van den Heuvel is a young designer from the Netherlands who recently graduated from ArtEZ Arnhem product design. She loves to play with color and her designs are cheerful and show a lot of the fun it brings her to make beautiful things. Rinskes graduation project is an invitation to grown ups to start playing again. With her big collection of colorful big beads, she lets people make their own necklaces. While threading the beads, the players get special playing cards with questions to ask each other and small tasks to do. A conversation about joy, happy memories, dreams for the future and the meaning of playfulness takes place. As the players connect the beads, they connect to each other as well. A statement piece necklace is the result. When worn, it reminds the wearer and their surrounding of the importance of playing. At the same time, it is a conversation starter because of its boldness. In that way the necklace spreads the joy and conversation itself throughout the world.

The starting point for this project was seeing a lot of (young) people struggle with life and wanting to offer some relief. This project celebrates fun and playfulness and encourages connection between people. Things we all need but at some point in life, we need it even more.
