Aurelia is a Singaporean fashion design graduate with a passion for tactile techniques like crochet and embroidery. Being a fashion design major, she translates her love for craft into wearable, whimsical garments that are focused on communicating the human touch that goes into garment-making. Throughout her studies, Aurelia has been featured by Vogue Singapore and Harper's Bazaar Singapore, and has had her work exhibited at prestigious events like the Earthshot Prize and Singapore Design Week. She is a Singapore Fashion Council Scholar and is committed to making her mark on the local fashion scene.
Orchard Road, renowned for its bustling shopping district and striking architecture, draws the most fashionable individuals iin Singapore. Yet, amidst the glamour, a group of residents often goes unnoticed - Pigeons. Inspired by their remarkable ability to adapt to urban life on Orchard Road, I have designed a draped raincoat that blends functionality with style. To champion sustainability, this raincoat is upcycled entirely from damaged tent flysheets donated by Outward Bound Singapore. Zero-waste cutting and Subtraction Cutting techniques are used to ensure no material is wasted. The result is an eco-conscious, functional and fashion forward raincoat that reflects my commitment to sustainable fashion.
