About

I am a fashion design graduate from ESMOD Paris, with a third year specialization in Performance & Artistic Fashion Design. I see myself as an architect, working with the same elements (light, volume, texture, materials, views…). The major difference for me (generalizing) is that buildings create an inner space for humans, they are a passive agent within the space; whereas in fashion they are the active agent. The need to elevate fashion to a thoughtful philosophical and sociological matter is present throughout all my collections, hoping to become one of the leading thinkers and creators of the industry.

Camino immerses herself into a sociological aspect, studying it deeply, to later translate it into designs. The final collection studies the transformational process of a child becoming an adult fully integrated into society. Five phases were identified, each outfit reflecting one of them (1st outfit symbolizing the child, 5th outfit the adult). Collection Concept: We are driven to the calling of an unavoidable societal integration, subtly forming whilst we strive to become a worsened version of ourselves: adults. Rotten purity I’d dare to say; chewing a misconceived authenticity that manipulates our soul, tricking us to become part of the norm. Note: all fabrics used were up-cycled - discarded from luxury fashion brands. Exception: Denim won as a finalist for Japanese Okayama Denim Competition.
