About

My name is Viet Anh Le and represent of V.A.LE, I'm specialise for Haute Couture, womenswear, illustration, beading and embroidery. I have a passion for sketching and fashion illustration. My projects often hold an underlying message which I translate into fashion pieces and modern contemporary. I often like to work with fun and exciting inspiration, whether it be unconventional fabrics or interesting concepts, and I like to experiment with something new in each project I do.

design & research: external brief project one - ‘’ The Surealism Beauty ‘’

Book Project: By The Surreal Body: Fetish and Fashion Year published: 2007 The representation of the body, and particularly the female body, provides a common thread through the activities of the Surrealists. In fashion photography and illustration, the body was manipulated, fetishized and irrecoverably changed. The mechanics of fashion promotion ensured that this new vision of the body gained general currency and the fashion magazine played an innovative role in promoting a new and often highly eroticised femininity. From the jewellery of Salvador Dali and the collections of Elsa Schiaparelli and Meret Oppenheim to the representations of the body in fashion photography and ballet, "The Surreal Body" explores the widespread adoption of this imagery. The concept, based on a mad woman who is obsessed with her body was a sight of surreal experience and sexual sentiment. It has become the subject of intense scrutiny: dismembered, fragmented, desecrated, eroticized and these processes were iterated in mind and physical activity.
