About
Third year Textile Design student at Winchester School of Art, specialising in knitted textiles. Driven by the interest in technical processes, I explore the intersection of traditional crafts and digital textile processes. My undergraduate studies not only equip me with hands-on experiences with domestic, Dubied knitting machines, digital stimulations and Shima knitting, but also give me opportunity to practice critical thinking and making design decisions.
I enjoy experimenting with different processes and yarns. With my design, I am detail oriented and inspired by unexpected patterns. In my recent projects, I have been exploring ways to utilise dead-stock materials and yarn wastes.
Broken Romance is an industry project with Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. The project was inspired by Gothic churches, medieval and modern love potions, and love potion ingredients. It also draws on local poisonous mushrooms and scientific images of organs from 1930s-1940s. The samples were mainly produced using domestic knitting machines and a ribber. I also experimented with crochet and 8gg Dubied knitting machines. Many of the yarns used in this project are donated deadstock.
