About
I am currently completing my MA in Fashion Knitwear at Nottingham Trent University. My background is knitted textiles so I have enjoyed the opportunity to enhance my skills in fashion knitwear design which has allowed me to translate my passion for colour and texture into garments. I love exploring new knit techniques to create pieces that are unexpected. I often incorporate other materials such as wire and leather into my work to push the capabilities my fabric designs have. I am often influenced by my own photography and am intrigued by how I can reflect my own experience into the designs I create.
'Day to Night' explores the shift in colour, landscape, and atmosphere seen in Asian cities when day turns to night. The collection is inspired by my own travel photography I took on a trip across Asia last year. I was mesmerised by the scale of everything in the cities I visited. There was an excitement I felt that was magnified when the cityscape transformed as the sun went down, and I wanted to capture this feeling in my designs. The collection is a nod to Japanese fashion and the impact is has had on the world of fashion design.
