About

Escape into DaydreamMy design collection explores the themes of Escape, Daydream, Birthplace, and Childhood, where reality merges with the subconscious. Inspired by René Magritte’s surrealism and memories of my hometown, I incorporate elements such as trees, the moon, and bags to evoke a sense of poetic disconnection. The sculpture Tree and Bags by Atelier Van Lieshout deeply influenced me with its portrayal of solitude and decay.I see my birthplace as the root of identity, holding pure and irreplaceable memories. To capture this, I developed silhouettes based on antique nightgowns from the early 1900s—garments made of silk, chiffon, cotton, and lace, whose flowing forms and delicate textures evoke comfort and dreamlike freedom.Using draping techniques on a vintage nightgown, I added Rene Magritte ’surrealism art work elements like doors, clouds, and eyes to reconstruct alternative dream spaces. I layered translucent fabrics with printed silhouettes of trees to mimic a swaying forest, and created romantic samples using bubble forms, gathers, and vintage materials. This collection blends nostalgia, surrealism, and dream logic, offering an emotional space for escape from reality.
