About
I am a technically minded Fashion Design graduate, utilising pattern cutting, construction and production experience to develop garments distinctive in their attention to detail and fabrications. A hands on approach and a desire to constantly deepen my knowledge of manufacturing methods play a key part in my practice. I aim to build the narrative of long-lasting, deeply personal clothing through considerate development of new styles and use of artisanal materials.
Traditional menswear and its overpowering structural forms seen in Western Europe, as well as its widespread influence, have long since sparked in me a sense of rebellion to defy it, and a will of search for alternative relationship between us and our clothing. This collection acts as a medium for the nature of the textiles to take center stage by allowing it space for movement and continuity through the use of considerate cutting and construction. During the development process for this collection, a novel approach to study of the ergonomics of the body and its movement, has allowed for an alternative outlook challenging traditional construction and volumes of the established garment archetypes.
