About
I am a recent graduate from GSA having completed BAHons. in Fine Art Painting and Printmaking. I love to draw and sculpt, make stained glass and paint mostly portraits. When I look at a sitter I try to look beyond the physical to search out the real person hiding below the surface and bring them up for air, even just for a short time.
From Life to Death and Back Again In this project I have focused on portraiture and the undisclosed, sometimes hidden, inner life of my subjects. It's and empathetic journey beneath the skin of these sitters and even myself to find and capture, in the shadow of Holbein's sketches, the true self in simple note form. I have driven myself to learn to draw, to sculpt, to paint, to collage and make with glass in order to capture these elusive skills, to consume and forget them, until my autonomic self takes over and opens up my vision and imagination creating a newly discovered confident potential, broader ideas and more original form.
