About
Nay is a senior at the Academy of Art University in San Fransico, studding for their BFA in Costume Design. Nay has worked in all areas of the theater, from acting, to stage craft, special effects, and costumes. This broadened their understanding of the theater world and has helped them fully understand the design process. Nay has been in the theater industry for 15 years. Their first production as a wardrobing assistant was "Legally Blonde" in 2015. Since then, Nay has worked on multiple productions as both a wardrobe assistant and second designer.Nay’s inspiration comes from their love of historical fashion and bringing it into a modern setting. They believe that just like fashion, costumes evolve while paying tribute to their foundations.
This was a student project, breaking down the script and design process of a theater production. Being creative with a low budget and minimal resources, the challenge was to create 4 fully designed looks. This resulted in a mostly sourced project with Audrey 2 and Twoey being the focused builds. The challenge of this project we creating a puppet of Twoey that would be carried by Semour and creating a human version of the same plant.
