Arts Thread

This project stemmed from a deep interest in the technology of printmaking and its relationship to the body. Rather than working solely on traditional print surfaces such as paper, I chose to incorporate the materials of printmaking into the work itself. Exposed photo-lithography plates, a lithography blanket, screenprinting photo-emulsion and PVC were all presented to draw attention to the various printmaking processes at play within my practice. The show was an attempt to look at the relationship between print technology and the body; examining the idea of multiples/copies coming from an original matrix. It revolved around the question “where do we hold our memories and how does this relate to print?” Loosely biographical, the show references memory, loss and psychology.
