About
My works focuses on challenging and expanding the definitions of concepts such as wholeness, partness, materiality, and glassiness. I investigate how these definitions can be disrupted and their boundaries stretched within our semantic space. My curiosity drives me to explore interesting, challenging, and new places where I encounter different questions every day.
This project incorporates material-chemical research alongside historical-cultural research and presents rebuilding of local technological knowledge, based on Indigenous philosophy, combining ancient and contemporary techniques to build structures used for temporary shelter. This study produced a unique glass substance shaped by hand at room temperature, made of bio-plastic, ash produced from desert plant, powder from recycled industrial glass bottles and rock mineral. After firing, the glass becomes porous, lightweight and heat isolating. This work raises issues of sustainability and how we treat natural resources and human waste; how we use them and allow them to be a model for recycling and rebuilding.
