My name is Elle and I’m a third year Textile Design student at Winchester School of Art, specialising in Print. My work is illustrative in nature, leaning into my love of both alternative fashion and theatrical costume with an emphasis on intricate detail in my prints combined with exaggerated silhouettes aiming to evoke an appearance of an unidentifiable species. This fabric collection represents the fragile intricacies of the human body, more specifically the changes it undergoes after death and how it parallels the biodegradable nature of sustainable textiles. I aimed to express an ornate exploration of this concept through themes of anatomy, decomposition and preservation.
