I make teapots by replicating unrelated found object fragments into ceramics and using pewter to fix broken and deformed teapots during the making process. My found objects are discards of individual things or leftovers of bigger ones: door handles, scrap wood and metal furniture fragments.
As a ceramic artist, I release them from their pre-existing material and functional qualities and reassemble them by repurposing and regenerating them into new ceramic vessels, I reassess and recreate their value, function, and material quality.
I give a new positive value to the waste objects, seeing them not as trash, but as new opportunities and inspiration for making fine teapot pieces.
