Remi is a low-tech storytelling device designed for children aged 4- 10 years old. The toy encourages the child to input spoken cues for Remi to generate stories and read them back to the child. The device targets spoken, listening and written skills through repetition and pronunciation exercises, comprehension tasks, vocabulary building and word games. An interactive and playful educational toy that helps you feel more confident in your non-native language. The portable toy has an E-ink screen (to avoid blue light emissions) that displays topic related vocabulary flashcards, audio transcripts and handwriting demonstrations to support memory retention and grammar syntax skills. Upon listening to the story, a print out from Remi’s mouth, with practice games/ tasks, will appear for the child to complete. Word games and puzzles, such as crosswords and matching tasks will test the child’s understanding. With two buttons on either side for easy screen navigation, the user can choose the input selections for the story generation, flip through the flashcards appearing on the screen, and change the mode and output settings.
