My name is Elle and I’m a third year Textile Design student at Winchester School of Art, specialising in Print. My work is illustrative in nature, leaning into my love of both alternative fashion and theatrical costume with an emphasis on intricate detail in my prints combined with exaggerated silhouettes aiming to evoke an appearance of an unidentifiable species. This project was an opportunity to research future trend analysis and respond to contemporary styles to create an exciting, innovative collection. I chose to focus my research around the ongoing animal rights movement with a focus on insect conservation and the use of silk in the fashion and textile industry.
