About
Hi, I’m Merran. I’m an artist and illustrator from Cornwall, UK. My work explores ancient history and mysticism, taking inspiration from Cornwall's rich mythology and folklore.Highly detailed, black and white ink drawings form the basis of my practice, through which I try to speculate alternative ways of being. Alternative to the disenchanted state of modernity, I try to imagine a world more deeply aware of reality’s mystery and magic.
This project envisions the mythos of a future religion, set in a speculative future Cornwall. The images are inspired by Celtic mythology and history. Through them I seek to explore the concept of cyclical time and imagine a gnostic society surviving the collapse of our modern civilization.
