About

My name is Anja, and I am an industrial designer from Norway. I graduated from Monash University in Australia with a bachelor of design, specialising in industrial design. My path to design has been anything but conventional. I have explored various fields, from childcare and the army to security and nursing. Each experience taught me valuable skills, such as adaptability, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail. I truly value all my experiences, however, none of these roles truly fulfilled my deepest interests and passions. My love for creativity has always been a constant in my life where I expressed it through painting, drawing, woodwork and other crafts. These interests finally led me to pursue a creative career, and I chose design, not really knowing what to expect. At Monash, I have embraced a collaborative approach to design, believing that the best solutions come from working together and considering multiple perspectives. This mindset has allowed me to create thoughtful, user-centric solutions that make a difference. Through my time at Monash I have explored various parts of creative practice, and have become passionate about 3D modelling, rendering, model making, furniture design, sustainability, and charcoal drawing. As I continue to evolve as a designer, I am excited to merge my multidisciplinary background with my design expertise to create impactful, innovative, and sustainable solutions.

The Paramedic Equipment Trolley

Specialisms:

Industrial Design

The Paramedic Equipment Trolley (P.E.T) addresses the high rate of paramedic injuries with a specialised trolley designed to reduce muscular strain from carrying and lifting heavy equipment. The P.E.T. was developed to fit seamlessly into the ambulance’s side compartment, with features like a hydraulic lever, tri-wheels, and adjustable handlebars to accommodate for a variety of people and for easy handling. The lightweight and recyclable aluminium structure supports sustainability and manufacturability. The design process incorporates insights from Ambulance Victoria paramedics to ensure practical functionality, improving paramedic safety, efficiency, and long-term health.
