Lily Skye is a Scottish-based fashion photographer who incorporates documentary elements, allowing her to capture authentic, real-life moments within her editorial images. Her love for storytelling is evident in her work, as she searches for meaning and a narrative within each photoshoot she undertakes. Through her portfolio, you'll be able to see a range of her editorial photography encompassing fashion, lifestyle, and portraiture.
Balintore is located on the northeast coast of the Highlands and is within the top 10% of deprived areas in Scotland. The Highlands overall has been labelled a “demographic time bomb” with 47% of young people between the ages of 16-29 planning on leaving in the next five years. ‘Threads of Rural Innocence’ explores the experiences and opinions of young people growing up in the Highlands through fashion photography. Raised there herself, Lily understands the challenges of growing up in a place that is socially and economically disadvantaged. Through her project, she aims to give voice to the young people who navigate these challenges daily.
