About
As an MArch graduate from Manchester School of Architecture (Atelier PRAXIS), my work explores how architecture can restore dignity, visibility, and care for those often overlooked by conventional design - particularly in high-density urban environments.My thesis, Towards Dignified Living, reimagines transitional housing in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong - addressing the lived realities of residents in coffin homes and subdivided flats. Through a feminist and community-centred lens, I developed a modular, prefabricated system that combines shared infrastructure, sustainable materials, and economic resilience.I’m interested in architecture as both a social and spatial practice - one that challenges structural inequalities, embraces collaborative making, and prioritises long-term adaptability over short-term spectacle.
"Towards Dignified Living" reimagines transitional housing in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, for residents of coffin homes and subdivided flats. Adopting a feminist, community-centred framework, it combines modular, prefabricated construction with a Community Land Trust model, ensuring residents gain both dignified living spaces and collective ownership. By integrating local businesses, shared kitchens, and flexible communal areas, the project restores agency, strengthens economic resilience, and fosters a shared rhythm of life. This prototype addresses urgent housing inequities in high-density cities and can be adapted to similar contexts globally.
