My ongoing Major Project, named 'untamed elegance', is a self-initiated project inspired by the overgrown nature of the British garden. The visual ideas of the classic floral and natural elements of the British gardens within the countryside, which I have been inspired by growing up within these surroundings. Exploring the wildflowers, free-flowing nature of leaves, trees and roots, as well as structural elements of the greenhouse often found in these gardens. Looking at the structural shapes and combining this with the natural elements to create a detailed and uplifted collection. The combination of these elements and also my research and visual inspiration from the art nouveau movement and artists like Alphonse Mucha, which include the overgrown tendril visual ideas. This collection of samples is intended towards a high quality womenswear spring/summer 2025/26 evening wear collection. This collection is built up of digitally printed fabrics, hand dyed and hand printed fabrics, using techniques like devore, discharge and acid print, and also elements of cad embroidery. Using high quality fabrics, focusing on sheers like organza and chiffon, silk satin and bamboo silk to create a high end feel.
