About
I've been a farrier for 25 years, collecting hoof horn and fur during my work. I transform these waste materials into unique jewellery pieces.
What if we not only see animals as objects but as beings who look at us, whose gaze intersects with ours? What if the boundaries between humans and animals dissolved? What if our coexistence on this planet were a process of growing together, of ‚becoming one‘? What if our relationship were based on mutual respect and mindfulness? As a farrier, I collect hoof horn and fur materials in my work. When transformed into body-related objects, these materials represent a ‚togetherness‘ and establish a connection between humans and animals. They ask who is present and who emerges from this relationship. I know the name of every horse from which the materials originate. They are my companions in an interconnected otherness.
